Medical Devices for Stuffies!

Medical Devices for Stuffies!

If you are familiar with our brand, you know that most of our inclusive accessories are made to fit our collection of diverse dolls. However, we have just released “button-ized” versions of our most popular designs! These button-back devices can be sewn on to stuffed animals so you can now bring inclusion to your stuffie collection!

If you are new to our company, The Butterfly Pig, we are founded on the celebration of everyone’s unique gifts, encouraging all children to love themselves for who they truly are.

We design and manufacture toy medical devices for dolls and stuffed animals to increase representation in the toy world. The inclusive accessories and diverse dolls we sell can help teach inclusion and diversity through play!

My passion for making doll-sized medical devices started when I was working as a nurse in Pediatric Oncology. Something as simple as a matching IV in a teddy bear brought these children so much joy and comfort during such a difficult time.

I strive to continue imagining and creating new devices in order to help more children feel seen. If you are looking for a device that is not offered on our site yet, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Now, what has been button-ized?

Hearing Aids!! These are our most popular item. Originally, they have been on a headband in order to attach them to hard vinyl dolls (this style is still available as a separate product). This new button-back style allows you to sew the hearing aids on to your favorite stuffed animal.

♡ We now also offer a button-back Insulin Pump, as well as the original hook-back that hooks on a doll’s pants.

♡ The “Kanso” style cochlear implant device now has a button back. Upon request, we can still glue a clip (for dolls with hair) or provide an adhesive back (for bald dolls).

♡ The “Dexcom” style CGM has now been “button-ized,” but it can still be applied to a vinyl doll with use of the included transparent dressing. The handheld monitor remains on a leather strap for the doll or stuffie to “hold”.

G-tubes! Alright, so this has been a button-back since we released it. But we have improved the appearance of this popular design! We have a new material we are using for the pluggable option, and the non-pluggable option got an upgrade in the manufacturing process.

♡ Our PICC Line comes with a Velcro strap through the hole, but this can easily be removed if you prefer a more secure option of sewing it on. A needle and thread can easily pass through the Velcro slot to secure the PICC on your stuffie.

But wait, there’s more!

The above items are only our NEW button-back devices. We have a few more that already have button backs and/or the ability to be sewn on!

The Baclofen Pump and Port-A-Cath are designed with button-backs, so they can be sewn on soft bodied dolls or stuffed animals. The “real” versions of these are actually implanted under the skin.

The BAHA (Bone Anchored Hearing Aid) now has a “No Headband” option. With this design, you can pass a needle and thread through the passage where the headband usually goes and you can sew it directly to your stuffed animal!

…and even more!

Button-ized items aside, we have plenty of other items that work well with stuffed animals too, depending on the size!

Above, you can see our Trach which is attached with a simple ribbon. The AAC device can be used by any stuffie, and it wonderful for pretend play! The CPAP Mask does come with an elastic headband, so if you aren’t sure if head size will fit – please e-mail us and we will try our best to give you information on sizing! The AFO’s and Crutches may fit skinnier stuffies, and the inhaler can be perfect for a pretend doctor kit (the top presses down!).
