I began making medical devices for stuffed animals when I was working as a nurse in Pediatric Oncology. Being able to teach and demonstrate a procedure through play made the WORLD of difference in that child understanding and being able to sit still through procedures on their own accord. It wasn’t until I was on maternity leave several years later that I dove into making more complex designs.
Furthermore, I had already written The Butterfly Pig, which explores the concepts of self-love and inclusion – so that is naturally how I ended up naming the business after my book. Opening this business has been one of the most rewarding experiences, and has introduced me to so many incredible people! I truly appreciate each and every one of you, in helping us make healthcare more child-friendly. I look forward to raising resilient, inclusive, and empowered kids together.

The cane is perfect, down to the marshmallow tip! Just like my son’s cane. He loved using it with his action figures. He did say he wished the strap was stretchy likes his so that it could be attached to the toy and hold the cane when it’s folded.
My 3.5 year old daughter loves them. All of her stuffies have “tubies” now and these definitely help normalize. They’re also a good conversation starter for friends and their parents and a teaching tool.

My son loves this! He recently got a tubie puppy from the makers of Mic-key as part of a new program of theirs, and he wanted a pump like his for his puppy. He also specifically wanted a purple one. He is overjoyed that he can feed his puppy while he gets his feeds! Next he will be asking for a backpack that fits the pump too 😳
