Yes, we are a registered CPSC small batch manufacturer, and we go above and beyond the requirements to ensure safety. Toys are tested to ASTM standards, and materials comply with CPSC standards. The main material we use is a plastic alternative that is derived from corn! All materials used are tested as required – ensuring they are lead-free, phthalate-free (6P free), etc.

We don’t seek to certify any of our toys for children under 3 even though some may be big enough or safe enough per ASTM standards. If used with children under 3, it should be used as an adult-assisted educational device, NOT a toy. We have warning labels on all toys that they are choking hazards. Even if something may seem big enough, the risk that a small piece could break off makes it a choking hazard regardless of it’s original size.

We unfortunately do not share files for a few reasons: we invest in safety testing for our finished products, so since 3D printing quality/technique can differ from printer to printer, difference of Gcode, and materials, there is no way to guarantee adherence to safety standards if we shared our files with others. Not just for liability reasons, but also for peace of mind that we are promoting toy safety compliance – we only sell the physical products that are tested and in compliance with the CPSC.

Oh no! Please e-mail me at Mary@TheButterflyPig.com with photos. The photos will help us improve any products that may have weaknesses. We aim to make our toys as durable as possible. If yours breaks with normal use, we are happy to replace or provide a refund depending on the situation.

We update the notice on the cart page to show current expected ship times. We ship orders within 1-4 business days unless you ordered a “backordered” item. In that case, the entire order will ship in 1-7 business days.

If we notice back-to-back orders from the same customer and same shipping address, we will try our best to recognize this and combine orders/refund shipping. That is a wonderful question. We are working on some handouts to help facilitate conversation and play using our products. However, if you are using these toys to teach your child about their own medical condition or that of a family member, we highly recommend getting in touch with your local Child Life Specialists. If your hospital doesn’t have a Child Life Department, you may be able to find independent Specialists in the community. Trained Play Therapists will be able to incorporate these toys into their practice with your child.

We do not offer this service at this time. Since we don’t make the dolls, we are unable to alter them in any way prior to selling. We also know that children are often attached to a certain doll or stuffed animal, so our medical device toys will allow you to customize your children’s toys however you want! If you have any trouble attaching the devices to your child’s doll or stuffie, or you are unsure if something will fit, please reach out! We are happy to help however we can. I am so sorry if it is taking long. I can’t guarantee that all designs will be produced, but I will reassure you that we never delete anything off the queue. Some things that may not be possible now due to design challenges or other unforeseen circumstances may be possible later! We have a hefty queue and are trying to release a new design every 1-2 weeks.
